Yesterday
Yesterday, all my trouble seem so far away...
Yesterday it was great to hear a bit of writing from each person. I'm constantly in awe of the people in this group! Amazing!

Teachers Share Writing after being immersed in art and lasagna
Fifteen brave teachers gathered at Crooked Tree Arts Center for an experience in the aerial photography of Robert Cameron and the memory boats of Elizabeth Fergus-Jean.
What a compelling exhibit, said Janice.
I want to bring my girls here this summer, said Michelle.
Hey everyone, have some wine, said Ken.
Did you see what was written on the largest boat? asked Dan.
I'm imagining my own memory boat, said Kris.
Hey everyone, have some wine, said Ken.
These aerial photographs are amazing, said Stasha.
I can see where we rode our Segways last month in DC, said Toby.
Hey everyone, have some lasagna, said Ken.
I can see how that NYC photo could give you vertigo, said LeeAnn, I was the hanging baby.
I can't imagine hanging our of an airplane, said Suzanne. I don't think we'll ever be able to see these views ourselves.
Hey everyone, we have a tray of veggie lasagna and meat lasagna, please help yourselves, said Ken.
I visited this island in France, said Karen. You should see it when the English Channel tides are in.
This picture reminds me of a landscape in South Korea, said Jennifer.
Here, have a roll with your lasagna, said Ken.
I love the environmental message in the Dream Boat exhibit, said Glen.
Look, Brock, look at all the pretty boats, said Kristin.
We have salad to go with the lasagna, said Ken.
Did you see what I drew on the hanging canvas? asked Greta. My grandmother found a fawn in her yard on Saturday morning.

May I offer you some dessert? asked Ken.
Thanks to all for a wonderful outing...Ken your amazing selections of the menu and space were wonderful.
With gratitude, Toby

Gallery of Shadows
Hanging in light
...A stern embroidered in lavender
Floating in our mind's eye
...A stern embroidered in lavender
Washed up into sand
Fish bones, torn Wendy’s cup
Bottle cap, cigarette butts
Orange plastic fence
Standing in waters
Our feet dip into
Cool Lake Michigan
Sapphires to sparkles
Slats of wooden waters
Dream and melt
Between toes
What we value
Floats into
Our sight
Our sand
Emerging from the frigid
Deep...we float
High above
The souls of
Our sisters, brothers
fathers, mothers
Puppies, kittens
Those that have gone
Before us
We soar above
All of it
Skyscrapers, Mountains
Monuments, Water
A broken-down castle
We are the kings and queens
The ace of spades
The pointy top
The shadowed space
Set apart
Recognized
Appreciated
By the spirits

Awesome Views
It was great to take the time to get inspiration from writing from something other than the written word - the boats and the pictures were awesome. Very enjoyable. Thank you. - Greta
Color, Technology, Good Conversation, and Art
First, to Suzanne: Your lesson was the rainbowest! Visuals speak to my senses; your lesson was refreshing and fun.
Second, to our State and Nation: Any chance RCWP could write the ELA Core Curriculum Standards? We read like writers, it only seems logical.
Third, to All: Thank you for bringing such good conversation to the forefront. I am inspired daily by all of you.
Fourth, to Crooked Tree Arts Center: Thank you for making me feel special...the art, the presentation, the ambiance, the wonderful writers who all shared bits of themselves truly made for a devine experience.
